Why, hello!
I am a stay at home mummy, nice to know that.
So far I am not regretting my decision to quit my job to be a stay at home mummy. I am enjoying the fact that I am now more able to concentrate on Studiofrost. Working from home is not really a bad idea although the feeling of guilt is always there - whenever I am busy with Studiofrost and there I see my girls craving for my attention and just a simple touch from me, I feel really bad and sad. It's like I am there physically but am not exactly spending as much time with them as I thought I could. I am like the untouchable when I am concentrating on my work. However, I guess that's the sacrifice I have to make. You win some, you lose some at the end of the day. At least I have achieved my dreams of staying at home with my girls, so why I am complaining? At least I am my own boss now and it's truly exciting to be able to make big plans for Studiofrost. And it's even more exciting to have partners like Nurul and Ili. Each of us has our own strengths and our strengths when combined, contribute a lot more to the business that we could ever imagine!
And even though I may be busy with photoshoots for Studiofrost, I am glad I always am in the company of my loved ones like my husband who acts as my photographer, and Sharleez who acts as my fashion consultant. Studiofrost is really a family business.
I have to follow my instincts and cannot really depend on her on some days, though. Somehow, whatever I wear nowadays is always "Not nice yaa!" to her. She can never stop amusing me! Speaking of photoshoots, it's about time I change my pose. I must stop slanting my body to the same side all the time! It almost looks like my body is like that naturally. Funny yet uncanny.
And of course, at the end of every photoshoot, I look forward to spending the rest of the day with Mysha and Myreen too. These two ladies will practically throw themselves at me each time they see me. It's indeed comforting to know that I am loved and wanted. Now that they are older, Mysha and Myreen have started to play with each other. They grab each other's toys, pull each other's hair, wake each other up, smile and giggle together, and cry when one is crying. They are bonding really well, and they are so much fun to be with! This makes me all the more impatient for November to arrive - PERTH TRIP!
May I also stress that I do not believe it's wrong for a mummy to work out of the home? It will not make her any less of a mummy than those who stay home. Some mummies just cannot stay home. At the end of the day, we all do what's best for our own families. So this blog entry is not about putting down subtly working mummies because they do not/cannot/do not want to stay at home. This blog entry is more about following your heart when God plants a seed there. It does not matter whether your heart wants you to stay at home with your children, be a teacher, manager, or even a missionary!
Have faith, even if it does not make sense at times.

This is interesting.
Did you know that Father's Day was initiated by Ms Sonora Dodd, a loving daughter from Spokane. Sonara and five of her siblings had been brought up single-handedly by her father, Henry Jackson Smart after the death of her mother during childbirth. When Sonora attended a Mother's Day Sermon in 1909, she thought that there should also be a corresponding day to honour fathers. Many laughed at Sonora Dodd when she gave the idea of having a Father's Day as in the old days, only the mother was regarded as the sole nurturer of a child. Sonora worked for years to ensure that the idea of Father's Day becomes a reality. Did it become a reality? The answer is pretty obvious.
My family, we dig celebrations. But since Father's Day is not equivalent to a birthday, no theme or dress code was required for yesterday's celebration. Everyone escaped. Bummer. It would be interesting to see everyone dressed up like Daddy!
And as always, we kept our celebration simple yet meaningful, memorable and of course, full of laughter. After all, what's a Roslan family without all the impossible jokes and endless giggling? And what's a Roslan family without finger licking good home cooked food? Daddy had requested for Mak to prepare nasi padang for yesterday's celebration. Despite the many dishes that Mak had to prepare, she still managed to do so single-handedly. I repeat, single-handedly. Have I mentioned that Mak is a superwoman? She is, alright. Somehow she is just able to do anything and everything at all. I am still working towards becoming like her, but I am not ashamed to admit that I am not even halfway there. Wait a minute, this entry is not about Mak or me. This entry is about the most important man in our lives - DADDY!
The spread of food prepared by Mak (Glasses courtesy of countless MacDonald's extra value meals upsized)
The spread of hungry people waiting to devour the food
(Person to take note of:Sharleez!)
Another important person yesterday with a smile wide spread as always.
Happy Father's Day Daddy & Tatek.
Hope you both enjoyed yesterday.
Love you both loads!

: G'day mate! : Saturday, June 13, 2009
I am pretty excited about the Perth trip this coming November. Excited because this will be our first family trip- me, Tatek, and our Nadyas. My parents-in-laws are coming along as well, so we can be rest assured that we will not get lost or die of hunger over there. Just kidding! Of course we will not get lost- Tatek is going there for the umpteenth time! Of course we will not die of hunger- we know how easy it is to find Muslim foods there. And of course it is not going to be an easy trip, what with three active toddlers. We are hoping Mysha and Myreen can walk by then! They should be able to since they will be a year and two months old. That is another exciting episode that we are so looking forward to watch and gush continuously about. Not too much food for now, girls. The heavier you are, the slower you will walk. ;p But of course we will still bring you both along even if you have not yet walked by then. We are planning to bring along your twin stroller! YES WE ARE!
Tatek and I are going to ensure we prepare ourselves both mentally and physically for the trip. Things to anticipate and bring- that we must prepare beforehand too. I am lucky though that both Tatek and I make an excellent planning team. We can never and will never leave things until the very last minute before we can take care of them. And may I add that I love to plan? For once, I am a perfectionist- in planning, that is! That is the reason why we have booked our Perth tickets in advance just so that we can grab the bassinet seats for Mysha and Myreen! That is the reason why I have planned and prepared for my M&Ms' birthday bash months ahead. That is the reason why I have prepared our Raya outfits in advance. And now, I am going to start planning for Studiofrost Fashion Festival 2 already too. Nurul, let's get our heavy butts moving. We have serious planning to do, girlfriend. Or is it sister? Or is it both? Bloody oath! ;p
I have some friends suggesting that I use the Perth trip as a honeymoon trip- just me and the husband. I have some people commenting that the girls will be too young to appreciate and remember the trip and that it will just be a waste of money to bring them to Perth. And of course, I have my constantly worried Daddy who suggests that we do not visit Perth first due to H1N1.
But do you know what I think?
I think I do not need a honeymoon trip with the husband for now as our main priority is our girls. We do not need a week away from the girls to appreciate one another when we can do so as and when we can daily. The girls are still so young, fragile and tender, and we do not want them out of our sight- not even for a day. I do not think I would be able to enjoy the trip without my girls, anyway. So what's the point?
I think it does not matter whether or not my girls will remember their first ever Perth trip- that is secondary. What matters most is that they will enjoy themselves. My mantra in life is really simple- I live for the moment. I truly, deeply appreciate what I have now. Why bother so much about the future when nobody knows what it has to offer us? I do not want to live to regret and think about what I could and should have done. In other words, why bother about whether my girls will live to remember their Perth trip when the fun moments that we would be able to experience together is far more important? Besides, there is always the camera. And the video camera.
We can capture and record the entire trip, and I can be the great storyteller when they are old enough to comprehend.
And dearest Daddy, please stop worrying so much about us. We will do just fine. Just pray for our safety- that alone will suffice. As it is, I am still pretty sore that Mak and you are not coming along with us for the trip. It would be twice, triple, QUADRUPLE the fun with you both around!
For now, I have a major task to do- to convince Sharleez to take the aeroplane. The mere mention of areoplane excites her, but when asked whether she wants to take the aeroplane, it's always a "Nanak! I don't want! Airpopane shoo big. So scayi."
What she's trying to say is, "No! I don't want! Aeroplane is so big!" It's so scary!"
But monsters are scarier, what!

: Advertorial: Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner : Wednesday, June 3, 2009
I had a haircut last week. Yup, I chopped off my mane, believe it or not! Factors contributing to the unexpected decision? One- the extremely ridiculously hot and humid weather. Two- the unbalanced condition of my hair. My poor hair needed help since forever but thanks to my very busy life, I had no time to even think about providing tender loving care (TLC) to my hair. To add on to the misery of my long hair, I blow dry my hair and use lots of hairspray to tame it during Studiofrost's photoshoots. My hair is thus, under a lot of pressure most of the time. But I am very happy with the outcome of the haircut. Maybe it's because I had a pre-look of the hair style I was going to have. You can too- just visit http://dovehairtherapy.com.sg/ to see what hair style is suitable for you! It's really fun- I ended up inserting pictures of my girls as well to see the different types of hair styles on them! My most favourite hairstyle for my girls has still got to be the doll hairstyle. I chose the same hairstyle but different hair colour for each of them.
Sharleez N, the blondie.
Mysha N, the tomato.
Myreen N, the helmet.
And the best thing about this is, it will even provide you with the amount of damage done to your hair based on their hairstyle and hair colour that you choose.
As for me, I think I look best like this.
Kidding!
Tatek would run for his life if he sees me with this kind of hair. ;p
During my haircut, I was complaining to my hairdresser about the pathetic state of my hair. He assured me that there's still hope for my hair provided I start paying extra and immediate attention to it. I left his salon feeling VERY hopeful. Made a quick visit to the supermarket to scout for a good conditioner for my hair. Did not want to continue with the brand X conditioner that I was using previously as it did not do much justice to my hair. I decided to give the new Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner a try. The packaging is simple yet stylish. Yes as you might have already known by now, I go for the packaging of items- they sure do play a big role in my life as a consumer! I am glad that I have decided to try it. I like a conditioner with a very fresh smell. Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner is definitely one hair conditioner that is able to leave a very fresh and clean aroma on your hair. The smell is not overpowering-it's just nice. Another thing I like about the conditioner is the almost instant effect it has on my hair. My hair softens each time I use it and believe it or not, touching my hair after a good wash is like touching silk. The hair will style that soft till the next day, even. Whether or not it can stay as soft for more than a day, that I do not know as I wash my hair every two days, you see? But as we all know, the real test of a good conditioner is not in the washing of the hair, but in the styling of the hair. I do not wish for a frizzy and knotty hair but neither do I want a limp hair. When the hair is too soft, it's like handling a whole head of dead hair that can never wake up again no matter what you do to it, so how can I even expect to style it accordingly? Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner however, conditions my hair adequately. It leaves my hair soft, not limp. I can even blow dry and style my hair. My fingers can actually glide through my hair-just like what you see the models in those hair advertisements doing! I am not joking!
Regardless of the type of hair you have, I believe that the extra moisturizing qualities of hair conditioners will help to do wonders to your hair. Come on, let's not allow only those with dry/damaged and coloured hair to enjoy the luxury of using hair conditioners.
But then again, you have got to try it to believe it.
Dove Daily Treatment Conditioner is available at all leading supermarkets with an affordable price of only $5.50!
And what can I say, I cannot go wrong with my new hairdo! :)

: Better than rainbows! : Friday, May 22, 2009
Managing twins is not merely a blur of diapers and feedings.
Yes, so we have all heard that taking care of twins is double the hard work. Everything, from getting Mysha and Myreen to sleep to feeding times to playtime to dressing them up takes twice the effort. But did you all know also that taking care of twins can be twice the fun once you get the hang of it? :)I am glad that Mysha and Myreen are here in our lives to bring many differences and revelation. For one, their simple presence is able to provide Sharleez with not just one, but double the opportunity to practice on her role as a big sister. Having multiples is also helping me to better improve my neverending role as a mummy. The amount of time it takes to care for twins can make other siblings feel forgotten and hence result in the showing of tantrums. This is the reason why I am more conscious of the amount of time I spend with each girl. Mummies, you need to spend the equal amount of time on every child of yours. Remember, partiality is a definite NO. To even think about being partial is the biggest sin, I feel - it will practically damage the affected child's self esteem and state of mind slowly but surely. Sharleez however, has been really amazing so far. As much as she needs the attention from me, she is also trying her best as a big sister. She helps me out with the simple little chores like taking new diapers for Mysha and Myreen during diaper change time, and to pass the milk bottle to me whenever I ask for bottle number one (Mysha's) or bottle number two (Myreen's). While doing this at a regular basis, I am also testing Sharleez on her knowledge of numbers. Thanks to the bottled numbers 1 and 2, and her favourite numbers 4 and 8, Sharleez now knows the numbers 1,2,4 and 8, and is very keen to learn the rest of the numbers as well! Don't ask me why she likes the numbers 4 and 8- she just likes them without any particular reason.
And she likes posing like me too, nowadays. :)
Now, let me tell you how I manage daily with my three girls.
I manage my girls by prioritising.
I can still do the things I used and like to do- all I need to do is to place my tasks in sequence. sometimes, it is even necessary to postpone or elminate the least important tasks.
I manage my girls by making a daily schedule.
Things can go haywire if there is no system in place. This is the reason why Tatek and I have worked really hard towards getting Mysha and Myreen on the same sleeping and feeding schedule. no matter how different Mysha and Myreen can be, we believe we can still make them hungry and sleepy at the same time! ;p
The always ready to brighten up everyone's day Mysha
The always ready to lend a helping hand finger Myreen.
I manage my girls by not being ashamed to ask for extra help from my family. I keep reminding myself that parenting twins is not an easy affair altogether. I manage my girls by getting as much rest as I can. Rest is important - go through a day without no rest at all and it is as good as not being there at all. What's the use of being there only physically for your children when you jolly well know that you are not there with them spiritually? Pointless, I would say. This is the reason why we have arranged it in this way - The moment Mysha and Myreen are awake each morning, I will pass them to Mak who will then help to shower them while I sleep a bit more with Sharleez. As soon as Sharleez is awake, I will shower together with her, get ready, take over the babysitting job and prepare the menu for the day for my girls. And of course I am doing all these with the constant help from my maid when Tatek is working! You would be crazy to even think that I manage on my own. Basically, the maid's job at home is to babysit the girls when I am preparing their meals and when I am Studiofrost-ing. My maid is constantly under my nose whenever she is babysitting my girls. I am always eyeing my girls. When both Mysha and Myreen start to cry for milk for instance, I will handle one while the maid handles the other. Remember, help is important. I do not just throw the entire babysitting job to my maid. We help one another in order to be able to breathe life daily. :) When Tatek is around, he takes over the maid's duties as far as babysitting the girls is concerned so that the maid can help out a whole lot more with the housework and cooking.
I manage by getting time alone or time together.
I do not dream of having couple time with Tatek all the time, at least not within the next two years or so. What Tatek and I can afford to do so far is to do something alone with Sharleez, and only Sharleez. The poor little girl needs the attention too. She needs time off from the babies. And how in the world do i make time for myself? By taking a long bath alone sometimes. By staying up at night for a while to use the computer when I am not too tired. The key point is to still rest if my body cannot take it after a long day.
And lastly, I manage my girls by counting my lucky stars every day. My girls, they bring a rich joy to my life.
I love you more than rainbows, Nadyas!
Yes, that's how beautiful you girls are to me.

: Saving Time. : Monday, May 18, 2009
I was browsing through my files when I chanced upon this particular picture which I think tells a lot.
See that cute little toddler by the name of Sharleez Nadya? She was barely two at that point of time. See that head-less lady at the back with the very huge tummy? That was me of course, and I was due to give birth to Mysha and Myreen anytime. Can you believe it? Mysha and Myreen were actually inside my tummy! And this picture was taken last year. Only a year has passed since then but yet so many things have happened. Mysha and Myreen are already turning eight months old in a matter of days. That fast?
Time, slow down a bit won't you?
Yes, I am a sentimental fool.

I have been playing for time a lot lately. Tsk tsk. Not good. Have a look at the list of my must do's, and you will know what I mean.
One. Change my blog layout.
For goodness sake, it is no longer just me, Tatek and Sharleez. It's me, Tatek, Sharleez, Mysha and Myreen now. We are a big family now. Shame on me - I just cannot seem to find that perfect family picture as yet. We have not had the time to take a proper family picture too.
Two. Start working on Studiofrost's Makeover package
Yes darlings, we are really serious about this. We are going to start our very own makeover once we find the time to sit down and discuss what needs to be done first, next and later. Keep a lookout no matter how long it might take us. Akan datang, we promise you!
Three. Start planning for Studiofrost Fashion Festival II
Oh yes, we are going to have yet another festival, thanks to the overwhelming response from the first one. We promise you something more exciting this time round. Remember, we love to surprise you. Akan datang too, so do bear with us.
Four. Start sourcing for Mysha and Myreen's birthday party supplies. I think I need to get my bottom moving fast on this one here. Its bad enough that I have chosen a theme that is rather atypical for one year olds, but to start sourcing only at the very last minute? This cannot be. This cannot do.
And do remind me also to post Mysha and Myreen's passport pictures in my blog. The pictures are too hilarious. Its a must to share them with you!
But first, I need to sleep.

: The Goodbye Song. : Monday, May 11, 2009
Well, I have been truly busy with my girls. What other reasons could this mother have right? True what they say- a mother's job can never end. There is always something on my mind. I am always planning. I can be bathing Sharleez and planning for M&Ms' birthday at the same time. I can even sleep and dream about the list of things I have to do on the next day. It's crazy but it's also true. However, what's planning without doing? I seem to be running after time all the time nowadays. It's good enough that I have time to exhale. Even the girls' outfits for M&Ms' first birthday bash have to be put to one side for now. The good thing however is, I am already halfway there. At least I am not stuck in the middle of nowhere. The venue has been confirmed, theme-already decided, and the costumes-already in the making. Despite the hectic daily schedule of mine, I am glad I still have time to plan properly and get this, BE EXCITED for their birthday party! There is no way I am going to let anyone take over the planning-not even Tatek! I am going to put in just as much effort for it as I did for Sharleez's 1st birthday. Yes this mother here is so determined, especially when it comes to her Nadyas. Whether or not everything would go as planned on the actual day is beyond my control already. At the end of the day, it all boils down to sheer luck, doesn't it? :)
Now, back to business.
I have tendered my resignation as a teacher.
It was not an easy decision but it had to be made. So yes, I am going to be a stay at home mother- for good, this time round! I do not regret being a teacher- there are just too many fond memories I have collected over the years. The close bond I have established with my pupils and their parents is something that I will live to remember and share with my girls when they are big enough. The good friends that I have made throughout my teaching career will always remain my good friends. The experience that I have gained as a teacher will better equip me to be the best mother to my girls. So tell me now whether I made the right choice to be a teacher in the first place?
And tell me again whether I have made the right choice to leave the service to be what I should be to my girls- a mother.
Goodbye Mdm Diah. :(

: PRELOVED. : Saturday, May 2, 2009
I have just cleared my girls' wardrobe, and I have a few bags of clothes which they can no longer fit into. The clothes belong to Mysha and Myreen mainly, and consist of rompers and sleepsuits from Mothercare and Gap.I do have some of Sharleez's preloved items as well. Since most of them still look as good as new, I thought of putting them all up on sale. Don't worry, they are definitely going to be bargain basement priced!
Do keep a lookout for Babyfrost, because that's where the items will be on sale.

: SEVEN. : Tuesday, April 28, 2009
My dearest Mysha & Myreen,
I am at the heart of planning for your first big birthday party, and I am experiencing a major headache. No darlings, the headache has nothing to do with you both. You girls are perfect. It's the date that I am concerned about. See here, your birthday is on the 23rd of September while Hari Raya this year falls on the 20th September. This also means that your birthday is also the third day of Raya. Now, who in the world would want to attend a birthday party during the first week of Hari Raya? Even if there's anyone interested, would that person want to follow the theme given and forsake the traditional costume on Hari Raya? I doubt it, darlings. Hari Raya means too much to everyone, including you both! Miss Hari Raya visitings? How can? Think green packets. ;p
That said, I am still trying to find a suitable day for your big day. I am sorry that it would have to be a belated celebration with your friends, aunties and uncles, but this I promise you - We WILL have a celebration for you on your birthday in the presence of your family and truly loved ones. So its double the celebration for you both. Special individuals like you both deserve only the best.
The venue and the theme, I have happily chosen. All that's left to do now is to choose THE DATE.
Happy turning 7 months, my darling M&Ms!
Love,
Mummy

Whenever I have to take over Studiofrost's photoshoots for the pure sake of showcasing to the buyers our new arrivals, this also means having to juggle between the girls and yes, the photoshoots. I am always rushing for time during the photoshoots, so I do not have the luxury of constantly changing the accessories, makeup and my hairdo for every outfit. One makeup, one hairdo and same accessories for all outfits. Pose a maximum of five times for each outfit, and I am off to the next one. It's crazy - I would be running around the house. I am lucky in every way though that I have the much needed help at home, which comes in the form of Mak and our helper, Yani. They will always help to babysit the girls while Tatek helps me with the photoshoot. However, even silence makes a sound sometimes, and when the girls get pretty bored, they will demand my attention. In between photoshoots, I will always entertain them and take a picture or two with them, as a result. That has always been the case. Sharleez, as usual, is hilarious! She follows me everywhere I go during the photoshoot. She will always be in the background, trying to imitate my so-called poses. But of course you can never see her little shadow even in the final pictures, thanks to photoshop!
My serial stalker, Sharleez N.
She is everywhere I go.
She tries to be me.
She tries really hard.
Thank goodness she is my daughter and very cute to boot, or else I would have gone totally berzerk!
One more cute stalker in the making, Myreen N.
Oh, did I mention that there is also another stalker as well by the name of Mysha N.? She is a bit more dramatic. She cries each time she sees me, and demands that I carry her wherever I go. Thank goodness she was sound asleep this time round but in future, if you see me carrying Mysha N. in the pictures at http://studiofrost.net, you would know why.
What can I say?
I did not know I was THIS famous, can?
Bah!
Do keep a lookout for our new arrivals!
